Are Dying Light and Dying Light 2 good games?

I have some time to rot before college so I want to complete one or two more vidyas before the grind begins.
 
Dying light was mid for me

Dying Light 1 is a pretty fun game with friends.

I'd recommend it to play it in multiplayer.
