So I'm in 10th grade now and my dad says that I'll have a hard time finding a job if I don't get better grades, but online I hear many people say that grades aren't really that important.

Grade matters for certain subjects. Not for subjects such as history, English and social sciences or whatever

Your in tenth so you still got plenty of time, if you study you can get loans from gov depending on state/country, reward yourself when you do good on tests/assignments to reinforce studying
