Sephardic Jews are definitely Med, but not Ashkenazis. Ashkenazis are centuries removed from the Mediterranean, if even that, and that’s why Israel has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.

There’s also the Khazar theory, that they’re descended from the Black Sea area. Without getting into all of that, they lived in Poland, Ukraine, Russia for centuries, so them now claiming some Med/Levantine ancestry sure seems like it’s to legitimize their theft of Palestine.

I don't know much about the Khazar theory but Jews, at least the ones that Cyrus returned to Israel, were obsessed with racial purity and so they very rarely mix with other races. So the assumption that they would necessarily be Slavic because of living there isn't really true. To be clear, some of them definitely are Slavic or German. And yes Palestinians have higher affinity to their land but even if they didn't I wouldn't think of that as a moral justification for genociding a pop.
