mirror is literally the real you but just with an inverted filter for other people seeing you. The camera distorts you if you are too close. But we tend to think we look better with the mirror because the more we stare at the mirror we tend to find our right angles, and the light source coming from above the mirror makes your bones look like they're popping. Basically frauding to yourself.

mirror, it's just inverted, although like iblamemandible7 said you naturally find angles to fraud with where you look the best at with the lighting so this is why getting a true mirror is the best imo.

Light coming from above basically reveals more of your bone structure. The shadows tend to accentuate the contours of your bones and their separations.
It’s more or less achievable with some drastic weight loss.

Though, I agree, most will look way less defined in natural lightning.

Zygos look prominent and broad.
Ramus looks tall and straight.

I do this sometimes to keep myself from roping
