Are there any orthodontic devices to fix a somewhat recessed chin while still in puberty?

wondering if something like braces will help my chin and mandible go to where they should be or if they’ll just recess my maxilla like people say they sometimes do

or if there’s something i’ve never even heard of before that I can ask for

i’m only 16 so ik my face is still eligible for most orthodontic stuff

I would suggest braces, although please consult with an orthodontist (preferably a maxillo-facial one).

If you were to have braces and close the gap, the forces are too minor to cause a significant change in your maxilla nor mandible (only the position of the teeth are changed), that’s why elastics/functional appliances are used to move the jaws to a more desired position.
