Are White people considered most attractive because of biology, or because of cultural standards?

This thread and a discussion on how Japan (a nation that was never historically poor, colonised or approximate to the West) has long had an obvious preference for White, Nordic looking faces over Asiatic ones had me pondering: Are the preferences for White Nordic faces based on nature? Or nuture?


Of course, one can take the Max Weber view that all culture has roots in biological initiative, thus rendering the argument mostly moot. But what say you?

More cultural since less negative stereotypes, but genetics as well more preferable features, light eyes for example and taller heights. Still doesn't make the average white guy a Chad though, less subhuman than other races but still a subhuman in the end.

White skin is considered as more attractive and this has nothing to do with "cultural standards". Cultural standards are just the consequence of biology and genetics if nothing else. So it remains the same.
