Why can't you just get a job and provide your own roof over your head? I'm 37 and haven't replied on anyone to put a roof over my head in 16 years. The last time I moved out of my parent's house was when I was 21.

And yes, I would rather be homeless than abandon my principles. I've actually been homeless before, in a 3rd world country where there's absolutely zero programs to help people like that get back on their feet. It was the best experience of my life. Three months of hustling on the streets of Sihanoukville, then another three working in a boiler room (illegal call center) before I earned enough to get a visa and a plane ticket back to China where I could earn some real money again. Being homeless in a Western country would be a cakewalk.
