Tl; dr its a drug that can be topically used to degrade androgen receptors and therefore help with hairloss and acne. This mechanism is pretty unique making it possibly a good addition to a hair+anti ageing protocol. Especially for roidcells
How does it work?
The androgen receptor requires certain proteins,called coregulators to be stable and connect with dna. ASCJ9 binds to the AR which interferes with this interaction and the unstanble receptor gets broken down. Which as a result androgens can not get into your AR and rape your elastin and hair as there is no AR to bind with
What are the side effects?
as lf now it seems like no side effects accurs.
According to this paper it says and i quote
"ASC-J9 cream
ASC-J9 selectively promotes the degradation of the androgen receptor and thus exerts its antiandrogenic effects by inhibiting the interaction of circulating androgens with their receptor.[74] A topical formulation of ASC-J9, ASC-J9 cream has been shown to reduce the sebaceous gland size and decrease sebum production.[75] No systemic or local side effects were reported, thus making ASC-J9, a drug with an adequate safety profile.[76]"
And the ceo of the development company said this, its obviously biased so take it with a grain of salt
"Charles Shih, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of AndroScience Corporation, said, "We are extremely enthusiastic about the therapeutic potential of ASC-J9(TM) and the remarkable safety profile exhibited by the drug. The 0.025% cream formulation dose of ASC-J9(TM) delivered a therapeutic benefit comparable to levels seen with marketed acne drugs on inflammatory lesions, with no side effects, and we believe a higher dosage or improved formulation will translate to even greater efficacy in the treatment of acne."
Is it better than other hairloss drugs?
I dont see any relevance in comparing it to 5ar inhibitors or topicall anti androgens like RU as they work diffrently and therefore dont make eachother redundant
@Aryan Incel included a compound called GT20029 in one of his recent threads which lead me to stumble upon ASC-J9 as i tried to find similar compounds since GT isnt available
I think the only appropriate comparison would be with this and GT. maybe he could give a better take on which is better but i just cant be fucked to do enough research on both to compare them. Especially since GT isnt available to buy so i dont have to pick in between them so i think the comparison is more relevant when you can buy gt20029
Final verdict
i think as of now this seems amazing and an essential if it is as good as its promising. But it is still possible that ive missed something as this thread was kind of low effort and a big reason for making this was just hope thqt someone will make a higher effort and a higher iq thread about it.
