Ashwagandha - optimal daily amount? when?

For those of you who take ashwagandha, how much do you take, and when? Do you mix it in with other stuff, too?
I've read the best dosage is 300mg in the morning and 300mg in the evening.
What do you guys think?
 
I've taken it, benefits are marginal. Why do you think it's purchasable off the shelf?
 
I had used 500mg of it for over 4 weeks my stress was lowered a bit and lifts at the gym also improved a little bit but if you are taking it for testosterone maxxing then it's a major cope the best way to reach high test levels is simple pinning it exogenously and I am also soon gonna start my steroid cycle
