So I decided to try ashwagandha today. Started the day off feeling not great. It's probably because I've been starving myself and I've also quit all drugs including kratom, so I basically just have natural means to feel well, and when you restrict food it can be kinda tough to get your dopamine.
I should add that I do take caffeine and nicotine, but those aren't really what people think of when you say 'drugs' and they're socially acceptable.

I went home and took like 1 teaspoon or slightly less than that. Then I proceeded to lay down in bed. I was listening to YouTube videos about it and one guy said to take it with some fat as it's fat-soluble, so I went ahead and mixed one whey protein concentrate to at least get my digestive system going with something caloric. Went back to bed and noticed I was getting more and more comfortable. It was pretty cozy just to lay there. Not comparable to say, kratom, but definitely an increased satisfaction in resting. Not sure how long it took, but I fall asleep after maybe 20 minutes. This would never have happened without the ashwagandha. The dreams I had were quite vivid, sorta like watching a movie screen. I saw Simpsons episodes and started laughing my ass off. I drifted between sleep paralysis, wakefulness and full-on sleep a few times, which was fine. I'm used to getting sleep paralysis so it does no longer bother me all that much. I should mention that it also acted as an aphrodisiac and I had sexual dreams as well as this sexual energy present before falling asleep, similar to what I would get on kratom. Overall it was a positive experience and I'm looking forward to using it again to aid in sleep and reduced cortisol levels. It also raises testosterone which is a really nice benefit when trying to maximize health and look shredded.
