I started realizing that being part of the extremes of either side is a losing battle for Asian people. In the past, I was a self-hating Asian, who wanted to court favors with White conservatives. The problem is, no matter how much signaling I do towards said White conservatives, they will still despise me at the end of the day. And by White conservative, I'm using it as a loose term to describe White nationalists. Why sacrifice my self-dignity to court favor with people that will never like me anyways? This is not to say that the far-left is better either for Asians. They'll still push DEI and affirmative action as measures to get Asian people out of higher institutions, as well as call Asians white-adjacent.
Best thing we can do as Asians is to just keep our profile low politically. Maybe vote for center-right Republican/Libertarian politicians that push for pragmatic policies such as lower taxes, merit-based education, and a stronger police force, but don't get too involved politically otherwise. Especially not with the White nationalists or any overtly ideological group.
I realize it's best for us Asians to live our own lives (focusing on academics, getting a high-paying job, staying fit, etc.), rather than be heavily involved in some racial politics that isn't gonna benefit us anyways. If you're not White, Jewish, or African American, politics is pretty much a pointless endeavor, since those are the groups that have the most power and leeway in this country.
