getting people presents/gifts for their bday or another holiday

I can never ever come up with ideas of what to get friends or family for the life of me whereas I know others that are able to just come up with gift ideas, even if they are dumb trinkets or whatever I cannot EVER think of anything to get ppl. My last gf literally returned all 3 things I got her. It's nw my moms bday and both my siblings got her something and here I am not knowing ANY IDEA of what to get

another non nt thing is just to get ppl cash, even tho that logically makes the most sense and I like getting cash. Yet thats not really a good gift.

When in doubt give them giftcards for their favorite store instead of cash tbh

Yeah they know, my mom was the one who picked me up from my surgeries. However they've never talked to me about them
