So I read some shit that these coloring supplements can cause cancer in smokers. I smoke.
Realistically would this cause cancer ?

Half my family smoke and eat goyslop for 30 years and the only health issues they have is slightly high blood pressure so I don’t think I’m prone to cancer. Their diet is mcdonalds or Dunkin’ Donuts and steak or beef and wine or beer literally everyday

Already on mt2 but wanted to test if these supplements make it better

From what i know of only beta carotene contributes to cancerous tumour growth for smokers, however thats only because there is little research on astaxanthin and lycopene, ill have a look at some studies maybe a new one was published

Tag me when y make it bro
Ok bet ima megadose astaxanthin
However just to take into consideration, personally i megadose astaxanthin at around 80mg and around 60mg of lycopene, however i think the discussion of whether these pigments can cause cancer is due to the fact that these are not usually naturally occurring carotenoids found in organism such as tomatoes carrots and salmon/algae/krill, instead they are produced synthetically, and some studies have linked this increase in synthetic carotenoids to lower quality control, and therefore the chance of adverse side effects, however there doesnt seem to be much data to back it, furthermore its impossible to know whether your supplement supply is not of quality

Beta carotene is more orange and lycopene & astaxanthin is more red undertones right ?
Not interested in that orange shit
Just drink carrot juice or consume carrots for beta carotene, in its natural form it has no cancerous effect, also make sure you take all these carotenoids with a healthy fat such as avocado or nuts as they are fat soluble

I’m not interested in the orange more so the red
But I heard tomato paste is good or something like that so I’ll check it out

Yeah, any form of carotenoids is good, i wont explain the full chemical reactions that take place but the overall idea is to overdose on them so your liver cannot process them correctely, causing them to be forced to the skin. Similar to jaundice where bile isnt broken down correctely causing bile pigment to form at the top of you skin. Just mess around with doses and see what you prefer, i saw results within days, especially if your doing daily cardio, just be aware that areas where oil secretes most often on your body may hold the pigment first or most noticeably, personally i havent experienced this but some test subjects experienced buildup of pigment in the palms of there hands or the bottom of there feet, but realistically it isnt much of an issue

So sorry I didn't see this, son. Anyway, let me get into the nitty gritty.

Lycopene (found in tomatoes) and astaxanthin (from algae, seafood) are antioxidants. Normally they're considered protective against cellular damage. But... some beta-carotene studies showed increased lung cancer risk in smokers when taken in high-dose supplement form, not from food.
ABTC study (Finland, 1994) they basically gave high doses of beta-carotene to smokers and saw a higher rate of lung cancer in that group.

There's no evidence that astaxanthin or lycopene alone causes cancer in smokers, but I will advise caution for high-dose supplements if you smoke. The issue is that antioxidants can mess with how your body handles free radicals from smoke.

Also I should add. Your family might have lucky genes, but that doesn't mean you're immune. Cancer often hits later and risk accumulates with time + exposure. Goyslop + smoking = double risk for several cancers. MT2, tanning, etc., doesn't make it any better.

Dosage or method of consumptionEffects
Food amounts of these compoundsNothing
Supplement doses in moderation (20mg/day lycopene, under 12mg/day astaxanthin)Nothing
Mega-dosing (50mg+/day) especially long-termUnclear risk

I just advise some caution, son. That's all.
