They work on mechanical force being applied. Plus it takes around 15 weeks for appliances like MSE to work with so much force, not even your tongue can apply. So basically it's unnatural.

Technically yes and no. You’ll never get the changes a child would see from mewing, but you may get a millimeter or two. The point is the sutures never fuse in the face until shortly after death.
