Attachment Recovery Update – 99.66% Success!

Hello everyone,

I wanted to provide an update regarding the recent hard drive failure that affected attachments across various threads. When this issue first occurred, we were looking at a potential 100% data loss, which would have been devastating. However, after weeks of recovery efforts, I’m happy to share that we were able to successfully restore 99.66% of the files!

Out of 2.9 million attachments, only 10,000 files (0.34%) were unrecoverable. While we regret that some files could not be saved, this is an incredible outcome compared to the total loss we initially feared. Additionally, we are going to see if we can recover additional attachments over the next few days.

If you notice that certain attachments are still missing, please let us know, and I'll do my best to assist. Additionally, I have restored a backup that includes attachments for most of the older threads, including most BOTB threads, which should help bring back a significant amount of lost content.

Moving forward, we are implementing backup systems to prevent something like this from happening again. This situation has been a learning experience, and we are taking the necessary steps to ensure data integrity and security in the future.
