Even CTA trendfollowing hedge fund managers admit that that a 100% drawdown is inevitable given the time series is long enough. Thing with gambling is, it's a risk taking activity rather than a risk taking event. Like with smoking, 1 cigarette most likely won't contribute to you eventually getting lung cancer but since the amount of "risks" you're taking isn't predefined nor theoretically "non-infinite"; you'll go bust.
