Can someone please help me to understand whats so special about averageness. From my understanding averageness is based off the idea that the more average a face, the more attractive they are. In short, mtn mogs chad ( obviously fucking not) so why the hell is averageness talked about so much.

it's the features of being average to the population. like a similar angularity, angled eyes, lip shape, coloring, and overall look. doesn't mean similar ratios or wtv though

from what ive seen, most conventionally attractive people have high averageness all around the face, but they have one really striking feature that really ascends them (either the eye area of jaw most of the time)

like average ratios. Why do you think there are average ratios and what they are based off. If you were to get 100 peoples faces, normie faces, and combined all of them to get an average face, that average face would be deemed more attractive than most if not all of the other faces. Its about having a lot of genetic variety and heterozygous genes, so you have more traits and more protection from viruses and bacteria. More traits mean you can contribute more to the variety of the gene pool and save our species.

Exactly averageness=/=average average has some flaws and some halo's perfect averageness has no flaws in the face but needs a above average eye area for example blue almond long dark eyelashes with majorly ascend them

It's usually having a good eye area. He has a very average chin to philtrum ratio but his eye area carries him.
