If they only try to shoot you in the head from the front at a close range then the chance of a highly trained person surviving that is pretty high.

There is a thing called dodging before it happens. Dodging a bullet after it has been fired is absolutely impossible.

If you use a gun from close range and only try to shoot them in the head then you're most likely going to lose against an unarmed person if that unarmed person is trained.

You will only have a chance at winning if you're highly trained in using firearms or if your target is an untrained average joe.

But one thing for sure is, is that they carry around guns to "feel" safe. They have no experience in using the weapons but they feel invincible just because they carry one.
