Man growing up in the UK I remember life was soooo real (not saying it was good and perfect but so much shit happened in general like both good and bad, being in the UK was at least entertaining) and so much shit was flying everywhere up until 2016 when Brexit happened

And then shit slowly started to get more dull, and finally in 2021 after UK was officially out of the EU, life became boring af and now UK is a shell of its former self

Not saying it was all good, my childhood in the UK was quite horrible mostly, but some parts were very entertaining

Anyone who was born in late 90s/early 2000s in the UK can relate with me

Uk turned into a shithole around the late 2010s when foreign investors started buying everything creating a housing crisis. Brexit also played a role causing supply chain issues. It's a mix of bad policies, global market forces and internal mismanagement and illegal immigrantion that led to where the UK is now.

UK was always shit but back then ppl were much more wealthy and way more shit popped off

I'm not saying it was a good place and I don't have much fond nostalgia but the vibes definitely went way more boring after Brexit

Do you relate to this nigga?

Like I'm not saying I had a good childhood (mine was bad and traumatic) but back then (in the EU) the UK was an all out zoo with tigers and lions, like everyday was a new movie, but now it's all boring and shit

@PrinceLuenLeoncur

There has to be someone else who sees how the vibes in the UK were much more active and insane than now

UK was always a shithole (at least whilst I was alive growing up), even in the EU, but it's now a different kind of boring shithole

More to do covid tbh.
Brexit was bad. It costs the british economy Β£40 billion a year. That's only 1% of the 4 trillion economy. Austerity and covid did 10x as much damage

Between 1950s-2000s. UK was legitimately a great country to live in was probably the especially after the 1980s economic boom under Thatcher and the growth of the 1990s-2000s but things really started going downhill in the late 2010s, with housing crises, Brexit, inflation, and energy shortages hitting hard.

I'd cut out the 2000s by early 2000s there were already signs that shit was on the horizon but it kicked up in the decades preceding

Oh yea I forgot about the 2008 Wall street crash that brought the UK in a recession too. UK's economy has now flat lined with barely any growth. I do think UK is still not a lost cause like many people seem to think. It's a sinking ship yes but it can be saved with good policy making. Improve economic relationS. Address the labour laws to fill roles in the NHS, increase housing etc. All these things can be done but only under a strong competent leader. This is the same country that has survived two world wars and has seen worse so it's not over yet @SecularIslamist
