Of course to get the role you have to be gl, but saying only good looks is the reason why they are decided by hollywood to be famous and to be seen by masses is not correct imo. You need family and prior connections, money and luck to get the job.
Or another example of decided to be famous is mainstream music, for example take a look at justin briber. His fame started when big record company(RBMG Records) basically used him to make money for them , a gl puppet to appeal to the mass and grab their money by singing the songs written by other talented artists and song writers, he wouldn't become famous or millionaire if the big record companies wouldn't want him to be, and he would end up as a small youtuber who is cute and sings songs .
