your mind doesn't want the best for you. it wants to be lazy. you should be able to observe a thought and not give it attention. this has helped me deal with my anxiety. you should use your mind and not let it use you. at first you will feel like being mindful isnt really helping cause your still thinking about it but it helps in the long run.
