19-year-old female hiker went hiking with her boyfriend in Bucegi National Park, located south of city of Brasov. Out of nowhere, the girl was attacked by a bear as they were walking along a forest trail. The bear pulled her into the vegetation and pushed her down the ravine.

Then the bear came down and proceeded to tear her body apart.

It all happened in front of her boyfriend
who tried to throw huge stones at the bear but the bear wasn't even bothered by it.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, they could do nothing but pronounce death. The bear had been euthanized.

And this was just a small Eurasian brown bear. Just imagine if it was a full fledged north American grizzly. Still picking the bear now are we?

Even a domestic dog can do a lot of damage if you piss it off.

You can present a decent argument against a cobra.
Even a small bear could fuck you up big time.
Just a couple of slashes to the chest or face and the average guy would be incapacitated.

Agreed there but a cobra is something you can kill with good strategy and athleticism

True but the average person isn't strategic or calculating.
I think they'd just get bitten and it's lights out.

Apparently, it's the neurotoxin - not the poison - a cobra secretes which is most deadly

I looked it up. A single bite - up to two-tenths of a fluid ounce - is enough to kill 20 people or a small elephant.

People that dont have the brains to stay away from animals twice their size deserve it tbh. We should give them the Darwin award

They could have easily stumbled into the bear's lair out there.
That's how most incidents like this usually happen. The mother is usually trying to defend her cubs.

Bears are peaceful planting eating omnivores for the most part.
As long as you don't encroach on their territory or go near their cubs, they'll leave you alone usually.

Hungry bears are different. You really gonna risk that

Of course not. I wouldn't knowingly walk into a bear's territory.
Most incidents you hear about are total accidents involving uninformed hitchikers, who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

True, it's dumb not to do some due diligence but I have some sympathy.
It's really unlucky for something like this to happen.
