Even if you have the intelligence, you have to sacrifice so many things in your late youth to create a successful startup. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, etc. they all sacrificed friendships, traveling, and other hobbies to put their all into their startup. Who really wants to sacrifice their social milestones or making memories in their 20s to be slaving away to become the next "Bill Gates?" Sounds like hell. My goal is probably to be financially secure and stable enough to make around six to seven figures, but maintain a good work-life balance enough to enjoy traveling the world, meeting new people, and mastering different hobbies. I doubt I'm intelligent enough to change the world anyways.

no shit people think it's a flashy life but real success is boring as fuck. you gotta slave 80 hrs a week without much direction, deal with investors, take bold risks and adjust constantly. tough life

Yeah. Might be hedonistic or selfish but don't want to sacrifice my NFL Sundays, UFC Fight Nights, or night out with the boys to be slaving away.

yup fair enough. however, id say if you got nothing to lose then it's not a bad option. like you are incel or something then grinding 60-80 hrs a week working and studying all day and trying to make something of yourself because it's the only leverage you got.
