Thread Soundtrack:
In this thread I will be talking about how to not only become and also be perceived as an intelligent person even if you're not that bright currently.
1. Logic:
Study the philosophy of logic
Anybody that's not below average in terms of intelligence can master the philosophy of logic
In my opinion logic is what the most of perceived intelligence comes from
After reading a few books about this topic you will 100% be better at making reasonable statements, becoming a better analyzer and questioning arguments from a better view
If you really dig into this, you will be able to destroy most people in a debate including the "smart" ones
2. Not talking about the things you have superficial ideas on:
Some may think having a little bit of knowledge in everything might make you look smart but if there is a person who knows more than you there on that topic, you will just embarass yourself and it will be hard for you to be perceived as an intelligent person from that point anymore
What to do then?
Get on at least beginner level on important topics and when you only have a superficial knowledge about something, just say "i heard that" before mentioning the things you know and ask questions since curiousity is a sign of intelligence too
Topics that are worth digging into:
Philosophy branches like ethics, existentialism, theology, metaphysics, postmodernism
Psychology
Maybe literature
3. Self awareness
Being self aware is also really important
Know who you are, your weaknesses and what you want in life
To improve your self awareness, just analyze your feelings and also a good advice would be taking a personality type test online and think thoroughly on every question
This will both help you get an accurate result on the test which will help you knowing your personality type and digging more into it and also since u thought thoroughly with every question, you will have a better idea of yourself even before you get the result of the test
Looking at yourself from a third person view will also help you to be objective and more honest about yourself
Final Conclusion:
The tips i mentioned will help you a lot more to become intelligent than studying IQ test patterns etc
If you do all these, you will most definetely be perceived as someone who's worth having a dialogue with and who definetely gives good advices along with a different view paired with great logic and knowledge
