Being called ugly online, but not IRL

Im curious if online is a red pill or not . I get immediately attacked for my looks online, always by other men. I always use my real self for my pfp. They will give me a backhanded compliment or just call me ugly outright. However, IRL encounters my interactions are usually pleasant and positive. Females even touch me occasionally at work . I have been called handsome numerous times IRL but never online. Im wondering because most ugly people say they get treated horribly IRL by strangers and friends alike . So which is the truth?

I don't get treated bad IRL, only online. Ive bee online since I was 19 years old . That was back in 1999.

why would other men attack my looks right off the bat? That's the first thing they go after. It seems to me if I were truly ugly, they wouldn't see me as a threat. I'm not saying I'm Brad Pitt or anything, but my hairline is good for my age.
