Its so lame I have to do all this homework and learn nothing, to cope i write about it on here because my mom won't listen to me. The main issues I have are, im not studying history and when I have studied it I basicly just learned about slavery and some other basic American stuff for three years in a row, im 17 years old doing the same book and lesson with my 13 year old brother in certain subjects, in other words Im learning middleschool subjects at 17. If im correct i only have a 7th grade math education. When I confront my mom about these ridiculous teaching methods she just starts crying and yelling saying im ungrateful for her attempts to educate me (nobody is forcing her to homeschool btw) at this rate I won't be graduating till im 19 but I'll probably just quit cause its hard to learn when your being taught by an overly emotional closed minded person who is unwilling to admit there wrong

Take it easy on your mom. She's homeschooling you because she thinks it's the best thing for you but you need to rise above her now.

You're 17 years old. You're a man now. And you're being taught by a woman who sees you as more of a man than you know, and she's probably feeling very overwhelmed because she knows there's truth to what you're saying but doesn't know what to do about it. Take it easy on her. Go through the motions of her homeschooling you and honor her that way. What is it, only a few more months? You'll be free of her after that so let her feel good about herself.

Don't quit until you get your diploma.

Caleb, I went to public school but didn't learn shit. All my knowledge comes from stuff I've studied outside of school. You got a mom that obviously loves you. She cries when you make her feel she's not done a good job teaching you. That's indicative right there.

I never had a mother who loved me. Only one who pretended to in order to look good. Anyways, I'm sure you can satisfy your thirst for knowledge on your own, if you really are that thirsty. Take it easy on your mom because she loves you and you're almost done. A new world awaits when you're done with your homeschooling.

Do you enjoy it in some way? Biggest cons in public schools is that you have to wake up really early you don't get enough sleep and there's a constant pressure from society, or you would rather just to go to a normal school like a normal person? Because for me it's very hard socializing and finding friends and sometimes I want to switch to homeschooling but I understand that if I switch to it I would just rot to death.
