I disagree. The reason you hang out with “bad boys” is because you’re inclined to do the things they like to do and seek the thrill yourself. Over time if you did grow up with them and you’re non-NT in nature, you and the NT guys would just separate yourself.

Yes, if you were put with a few NT guys who support you and want you to do well. Imagine that world. You guys are STUCK with each other. Imagine. There is virtually no way that most people don't just adapt. Your brain is adaptable. Never forget it. Little by little. That's the reason why my NT fluctuates and when I'm in awful situations I become "autistic" yet again.
