Almost always ends up going towards people who simply do not deserve it. Then I only end up feeling worse. Worst part is I cant seem to turn it off.

This. Half of my 20s and what's left of my sanity wasted because I stupidly believed I could help an NPD "friend" from High School become a better person.
I will laugh if he ends up on the News for the wrong reasons. Which Im confident he will.
