Yes but after that their energy will just rub off on the girl and make her uncomfortable. When you're shy and have low confidence that just completely destroys the interaction and makes it awkward for everyone.

To a slight degree, but it’s mostly about looks + initiating. If you can do that, it doesn’t matter that much how awkward you are.
