This is a quick overview,
There's only 2 factors that determine if a feature is generically predetermined to be attractive:
-is it attractive to childs?
-is it sexual ?
Height is neither, therefore it isn't mostly biologic.
the ideal height is average, for both males and females, and thats excatly what childs, health and overall physical abilities suggest. ( or slightly above, almost not significant )
Just like for the face, the perfect body is the body which is the closest to the average or only a bit above.
That's why, without realising it, we tend to seek someone tall when we're short, and short when we're tall ( society influence this aspect negatively - but this tendency is still visible ), because this will increase our chances to make an average height child - ideal.
i'd like to add to finalize this thread that height obviously matters, but as i explain earlier, mostly not because of our genes. I am myself pretty tall - so no conflict of interest here.
