Right now Claude Opus is best for generating code. It has a large context window and human like reasoning. Deepseek r1 is good at math, ML code, logic-heavy tasks. People generally use both Opus and R1 together for coding and ML tasks but they are on the expensive side. For the best bang for the buck chat gpt 4.5 is still the best. That plus the free versions of Claude Sonnet should serve you well.
