This track from Vinland Saga is unironically the most beautiful OST I've ever heard, nothing has moved me as much as this one has. Just close your eyes and listen to this, if you are not moved you are not human.

Just gonna tag some of you from my old anime thread.

I'm not gonna spoil anything, but I am jealous you get to experience it for the first time.
Yeah I was too busy with aot, one piece and berzerk, now it's time to finally watch this one :feelsokman:

one piece
I'm finally up to date with this one. My brother never thought the day would come. He has read the manga though and I don't read manga so I don't know much beyond episode 1048.

Nothing beats this masterpiece of an opening, an absolute gem that should be preserved even after we go extinct in 2040

I thought about watching Tokyo revengers first but since it's a story of a failed normie going back in time to ascend I'll give Chad Vinland Saga a chance first

This anime was the first one i watched when i got my 32" 4k monitor years ago and it was really good. I like this OST but i think licht und schatten is my favourite. Some of the few i like are below, also berserk 97 intro is one of my favourite anime opening themes. And regardless of how disappointed i was in the Shingeki no Kyojin ending, i still enjoyed the anime and the OST. Also, the classic bleach osts are great. Probably a few more i'm missing from code geass, death note (near and l's theme), can't remember much from naruto osts but i recall liking a few and the other popular animes but it's been a decade since i saw most of these animes so i don't remember.

Wait… Tokyo Ghoul was your first anime? Mine too!!

Damn that's an achievement, i could never get into onepiece, always thought it was too childish but i know some of the fights later on are really good. Haven't really seen much anime in a long while but might get back into it, thinking about watching edgerunners that came out last year, Suzume no tojima - film by the your name director.

No not my first anime, my first anime i watched on my new monitor, my first anime was probably death note a long long time ago, assuming dragon ball z, samurai jack and the other stuff that everyone usually watches as a kid doesn't count. I'm pretty sure death note brought a ton of people into anime, me included.

Technically it was DBZ for me too. For me it was Tokyo Ghoul.

Tokyo ghoul is a good entry i guess, i think perfect entry is death note though, it has the right elements of everything to interest regular viewers who haven't really seen any anime before. I put off tokyo ghoul for years back then but it's good. Code geass and Death note were the two really popular ones back then. I used to run home from school every month when new chapters of bleach/naruto manga used to come out.
What are you watching besides Onepiece bhai? any reccs? I guess i'll try edgerunners and the suzume film.

I don’t know man, I watched the live-action films first before I decided to watch the anime. And so I have watched the live-action of both but I gotta say Tokyo Ghoul struck me as a horror/thriller anime only for the drama aspect to hit me right in the feels outta nowhere. So much trauma for the main character. Haven’t seen any other anime like that. Therefore Tokyo Ghoul is the perfect entry for me. It made me tolerate otherwise uninteresting anime such as One Piece.

Only saw the netflix anime back then, didn't even watch the 3rd season i think it was or 2nd? because the story/characters changed, got told to read the manga since it's a lot of fuckery going on so i dropped it. The first season is kino though. You want trauma and kino? watch berserk '97

I’ll give it a try but I doubt it’ll have an impact on me like TG did.

Perhaps not but it really is a great anime and i'd be surprised if you didn't like it. Came out in '97 and brutally mogs 99% of anime.
