You could say that is anecdotal, but if it is so widely reported then either is selective bias from the observers(like guys insecure about height claiming to get mogged left and right) or it is mostly the truth and arguing against it is foolish. The only thing you can do at that point is take the behaviour as a truth and try to discern the implications of it.
Or just call them copers.

The best argument I’ve heard against ugly guys with hot women is that the relationship dynamic is nowhere near the same as a hot guy with a hot woman

If an ugly guy is with a hot chick 90% of the time she holds all the power in the relationship

When a hot guy is with a hot woman the opposite is true

Women do smell confidence tho, just that a lot of other factors go into how that confidence is then perceived

Ugly guy displays confidence and women will notice but because it goes against what they expect they are likely to shit test the ugly guy very hard to “put him back in his place” so to speak

A hot guy is supposed to be confident so women usually don’t bother or don’t try very hard to test if it’s authentic
