Best hairstyling techniques?

I use pomade, gel, etc, but I don’t rly know how to get my hair in the style I want without it falling apart

Any techniques that legitimately work?

then u using the wrong pomade, not supposed to fall apart unless its been like 24 hours try using high hold american crew, works great for me
