We all know that the best way to lose inhibition is to receive positive feedback from our social interactions. That way we start loosening up since we're not afraid of failure or rejection. And it's hard to act confident when you are afraid of failure and rejection. So how can you not be afraid of failure if you haven't received a lot of positive feedback and you know that logically your chances of failure are high? The best way to lose this fear (inhibition) is to convince yourself that the outcome doesn't matter at all.
For example, if you're too afraid to send a message to someone or to speak up in class.
Don't think of the worst case scenario and be afraid of it. Think of the worst case scenario as a meaningless joke to you and laugh at it. Just don't care. So what if the whole group thinks what I said was low iq? So what if she rejects me? Their thoughts about me shouldn't mean shit because I'm not getting anything from them anyways. They should be meaningless to you. If they give you positive feedback great, if they don't its not like it makes any difference.
I just convince myself that nothing matters and don't give myself too much time to think about it. I just do it tbh.
