I'm 18, have long-ish hair and have no clear signs of the beginning stages of hair loss apart from a very slight widows peak (if that even means anything). However, my ring finger/index finger ratio is pretty bad (longer ring finger than index finger = higher chance of hair loss [article]) and I'm planning on going on creatine which raises DHT levels which is linked to hair loss (Creatine increases DHT --> DHT predicter of hair loss). I'm aware that minoxidil/finasteride helps restore hair but what can I do to prevent hair loss in the first place so I don't have to do all that bullshit?

I would suggest oils like castor oil and rosemary oil. For me personally, castor oil has worked more effective and better than rosemary. I personally wouldn't touch minoxidil only IF you are actually balding/starting to bald and you can start noticing it rapidly.
