Best way to tan?

I'm going on vacation and want to know the most optimal way to tan in the sunlight. (I understand mt2 is much more effective before anyone even mentions that) I don't want to use bullshit low-test tanning oil either. However, if anyone has more natural options recommend

Astaxanthin to stop burns and then just 30spf zinc suncreen and lay in the sun. No secret to it other then mt2 obvs.
