So I've been taking beta carotene pills for almost 4 months and 8 barely see any result.
I have a fairly pale skin that doesn't look healthy and I've tried to improve it by taking a lot of beta carotene.

I've started taking 15 mg (22k IU) for a month.
Then I've upped the dose to 22 mg (35k IU) the second month
The third month I've taken 28 mg (47k IU )
This last month of June Ive taken 42 mG ( 70k IU)

No results whatsoever, I also eat plenty of fatty foods to increase absorption but it does not seem to help.

Does any of you have a similar experience, if so have you tried to fix it?

If you are abnormally pale get some blood tests done namely vitamin D and iron.
Other than that just spend 30 minutes a day in the sun, you should have a decent suntan not a lot.

I have no evidence but takin it from natural sources might be better

Helped me at 15-30 mg
The problem is that beta carotene compared to other supplements varies extremely from individual to individual

Some will respond to 10mg while others 50mg while some don't respond much at all no matter the dosage

Can't find the study
But it's basically a gene controlling how well u absorb beta carotene
It's expelled thru skin giving it colouring

I also take vitamin D daily, and omega 3 fatty acids as well

But I haven't taken any sun due to corona virus, so maybe it's the main cause of my paleness

There is a user who says he took 200.000 IU and he noticed some changes.

That's a lot, I'm worried it might be too much...

A diet high in carotenoids give a very subtle glow/tint to your skin. It definitely won't have anywhere near the same impact as getting a tan though from the outdoors. Just go outside and use at least some sun protection.

Bro why don't you just go sunbathing? it helps alot

This. Some people literally convert 0% of beta-carotene and need it in the form of Retinol.

Also OP your problem could be copper related, my disgusting pasty skin was a copper deficiency and I fixed it with a copper glycanate supp. I'm still pale but it's 'warmer' now.

Just stay out in the sun for a little while daily. I do it and my skin is red like I megadosed astaxanthin.

It works but you have to take a really large dose to actually look “tan.” Like I was taking 160k IU and I actually had sort of a tan. Not really worth it in imo, just tan with MT2 or use a good fake tanner.
