I sat next to this one kid in class for the entire school year. As he was around me, we started talking more and more and became friends. I was really happy because I don’t have many friends. I thought things were going well, but at the end of the school year, I made an Instagram account and followed him. I asked him in person,
“Hey, can you follow me back? I just made an account and I have 0 followers.”
He looked at me, smirked, and then said,
“Oh uhm, no I can’t, because you know…”
And I was so confused. He seemed embarrassed. Was I that fucking bad that he couldn’t even follow me back on IG? Like holy shit I sat next to you for the entire year dude!
I tried to play nonchalant and nod, but thinking abt it now, it’s fucked up.
