What I looked like 3 days post OP is a completely different person than now.

Take a lot at these pics which was the exact situation with my case.

You think "oh am I still recessed after surgery?"

The upper lip and cheeks swell so much you look recessed when you are actually not.

I'd say 3 weeks should give you a general idea, but all the lip and cheek changes take 6 months, or even a year.

where do you live? if you're in the U.S. how did everything go with insurance and choosing a surgeon? I've heard great things about Gunson and he's relatively close, but apparently this nigga taxes to the moon and its all out-of-pocket.

What did your timeline look like from consult to op day? Are braces always needed (straight teeth but overjet/overbite and narrow palette)?Right now I'm a senior in high school, KHHV needless to say. Schools about to end then I'm off to college. I need to ascend fucking asap for my own mental health, I really do feel like as a college freshman that's your last time to experience "teen" love before its too late. I'll just cope and liken myself to Rivers Cuomo during pinkerton if none of this shit goes right tbh

Canada. And no insurance, all out of pocket. The government pays the hospital fees. I just have to pay the Ortho and surgeon.

He is a great surgeon, but outrageously priced.

Started braces 2023 January, got the surgery in 2025 March.

Braces will always be needed either surgery first or not. Very few cases are surgery first.

You were able to choose a BP/aggressive surgeon or was it from a network? Sorry, I don't know much about healthcare outside the U.S.
If its the latter and my case doesn't need crazy aggressive movements then I'd feel better about working with some unknown bum in my insurance's provided list.

I think it really was just 1 vocal idiot on my original thread preaching about more lefort 1 movement, because he didn't know what it did.
