I'm getting bimax + genioplasty in about 4 weeks, but i keep seeing bimaxresults that didn't lead to an ascension such as this one:
1768070549389

Any ideas on how this happens? Sure the patient's base is an important factor but is it rather the lack of knowledge in planning or the "skill" of the surgeon performing the bimax that leads to results like this?

probably was tailored for airways and not aesthetics

What are you expecting to happen when his entire skull is subhuman tier?

you can't expect him to go from subhuman to HTN but maybe from subhuman to sub 5 but he didn't even ascend 1%...

brutal base
he's kinda underadvanced + he's got loads of facial fat and as i already said subhuman base

If recessed from the side = ascension from the side

if lacking vertical height or very gummy smile = ascension from the front

If you remove the fat layer to see the improvement on the jaw
And if you give him vertical height which he needed.
You’d see he had a good base for ascending

Majority of bimax surgeries don't end up in ascensions. I would tip 80%+

What you see online are either cherry picked results by a few surgeons for marketing purposes or people posting their own cases online when it went extremely well or extremely bad.

People who had bimax and improved 0.5 points front but now have to deal with a shortened and widened nose that destroyed their harmony, won't necessarily have a lot of motivation to show results on Reddit.

I dont get why people group all types of bimax when showing about the ascension rate? It would be more informational if you brought subcategories/ the ratio of functional needs and aesthetics advancements in each case and then comparing the result of what was projected to happen.

shortened nose?

Is he yapping bullshit?
wider nose is common although surgeons have been adapting doing techniques preventing that. maybe he means upturned nose tip?

Do you think he's right with the "80%"of no ascension

did you expect him to ascend to chad
theres some improvement but his whole skull is fucked
if OP's skull isnt fucked than its possible to ascend with bimax

Issues here look like soft tissue ones and also weird perioral muscles + narrow palate

He was never gonna be that aesthetic but he definitely improved, his chin went from severely recessed to level with his glabella, his front and smile are much better now too I’m sure. So it was worth it for him.

always depends on base, movements and skill of surgeon
Yeah agreed and for those 3 things to come together and to give an actual ascension, I would say it's less than 20% of cases easily.

Vast majority of the MTNs here and even the LTNs are overestimating how much they will ascend over a bimax alone. People most of the times are not subhuman enough to have +2 points potential with a bimax. If you improve one point as a non subhuman that's a very good outcome on average.

ascensions like on raffainis instagram are not done by a bimax alone but bimax + rhino + fat grafts + lip fillers
+ make up + photoshop lol
Etc

They may have potential to ascend later one with additional hard and softmaxxing of course but this also depends.
