My bimax is covered by my insurance but is it worth it getting a bimax from a local surgeon that’ll look to simply fix the functionality or should I pay out of pocket for a surgeon with a known eye for aesthetics?

depends on what movements you'll need

R u in the states? I have decent insurance, wonder if I would get covered. Not that I need it but would be internist if it was.

Yes I’m in the states. My surgeon told me the insurances covers when you have sleep apnea or speech problems.

My BiMax is covered by Insurance too because i have a small Anterior Open Bite (3mm max) and a very mild Class II Relationship (not even worth mentioning)

Despite that, the main goal is Asthenics

I don't know how it works in the US, but in Germany when Insurance Approves Jaw Surgery the Surgeon can also perform a Genio or even Chin Wing together with a regular Le-Fort I & BSSO BiMax

My Surgeon actually offered me Chin Wing himself, both Chin Wing or Genio aren't needed to correct any functional issues but they still perform them under Insurance.

The only thing i will have to pay for myself are Custom Infraorbital Rim Implants and Custom Jaw Angle Implants if i do Genio + Custom Jaw Angle Implants instead of Chin Wing

I would consult with a few surgeons if i was you and look for someone that fixes both under Insurance if possible.

Functionality and Asthenics usually go hand in hand anyway, but Insurance obviously wont cover Custom Infras or Custom Jaw Angle Implants
