Will bimax shrink the nose, Or have any effect on it?

it can push the tip up and widen the alar base

Could that happen just from forward movement or CCWR?
I think it's more likely to happen with linear advancement because the part of the maxilla that's closer to the nose moves more than with CCW rotation.

With linear advancement everything moves the same amount, but with rotation the further away from the axis of rotation, the more movement you get, so if the axis is the anterior nasal spine (which it often is, though not always) then that area will move very little. Of course the orientation of the spine changes if it's being rotated, but I don't know what effect that has, if any.

Is there anyway to prevent this? Or would I need t get a rhinoplasty after.

I need bimax for functional problems/asymmetry could use a little bit of advancement as-well.

But my nose is already wide and slightly upturned

There's something called an alar cinch that is supposed to keep it from widening.

But most people who get bimax don't need rhino after.
