Biotin (vitamin B7 or H) is an essential cofactor for mammalian carboxylase enzymes that are involved in important metabolic pathways in humans. The importance of biotin was first observed when rats without biotin in their diets developed neuromuscular dysfunction, alopecia, and dermatitis. It is therefore not surprising that biotin has gained in popularity as a supplement in recent years.

Skin:
There is limited data on biotin supplementation to treat dermatologic conditions, especially in patients with normal biotin levels.
But in children with atopic dermatitis oral biotin resulted in improvement in xerosis and Pruritus, so if you have dry skin, biotin could perfectly work for you.

Hair:
In several separate case reports of children with uncombable hair syndrome and normal baseline biotin levels, administration of oral biotin resulted in clinical improvement in hair thickness and combability (n=6 total, 0.9-5 mg/day). Supplementation of biotin can therefore be beneficial for thin hair and positively affect the appearance of the hair.

I take it everyday and my body hair has increased noticeably over the past months, most likely also due to age and hormones

Testosterone decline with increasing age has little to do with age itself and is more likely a result of lifestyle factors such as bad diet, lack of sun exposure, sleep deprivation, stress and nutrient deficiencies (which all add up during the years and decades). It doesn't have to be this way.

Also, "looking high t" is the worst possible indicator for actual hormonal androgen status. Masculine looks (primarily facially and height-wise) are much less about high testosterone and mostly about genetics, phenotype and inherited bone structure and hair density/distribution.
