most people don’t even realize how much your bite screws or boosts your face aesthetics. this isn’t about chewing or health bs, i’m talking strictly about how it makes you look.

deep bite – when your top teeth overlap your bottom ones too much. this makes your face look shorter vertically, your smile can look “gummy” and it can make your chin look more tucked in or weirdly square. you basically get that short face syndrome look.

open bite – when your top and bottom teeth don’t meet even when your mouth is closed. usually gives you a long face, makes the lower third look stretched out, and the whole face can look narrower. think that “horse face” or vertical maxillary excess vibe.

overbite – people mix this up with deep bite. normal is like 30-50% overlap. if it’s extreme it’s basically deep bite territory and gives you the same short face, gummy smile effect.

underbite – bottom teeth/jaw sticks out more than the top. this makes your jaw look way more projected, gives you a strong lower third and squared profile. looks “aggressive” to some people but can be chad tier if your midface is good.

quick version:
deep bite = short face
open bite = long face
underbite = strong jaw projection
overbite (extreme) = short face again

if you’re wondering why your face shape looks off, your bite might be a big reason. braces or surgery can change your whole aesthetic.

You should show some examples.

idk if this is always related i have deep bite like 80% overlap my face isnt short also getting braces wont change your face shape it only moves your teeth inside your jaw
