a lot of people say niggas shouldn’t straighten their hair because they’ll look gay or emo. which IS TRUE… to an extent. Usually the only black men who straighten their hair are emo or gay. So the emo ones TRY to look emo, and the gay ones TRY to look like black women (who already straighten their hair) so you see results like this.

But in reality, when done correctly it could be pulled off. Back in the old days when blacks wanted to assimilate, even the black men straightened their hair, but instead of styling it like a gay person or an emo they styled it regular making them look normal. And it actually looked pretty good

There are also modern examples of black men straightening their hair and not looking gay or emo just because they had good style.

Dreads don’t look good on everyone, so straightening fits better on some people.
