At the end of the day, when you peel back the layers of philosophy, religion, self help speeches, all the comforting illusions people cling to, what are we really? Just bags of flesh and bone, nothing more than meat machines on autopilot, running chemical scripts written long before we were born. Dopamine, serotonin, testosterone, estrogen, cortisol, these are the real masters, the invisible puppeteers pulling every string behind the illusion of free will. You never had control, you only had the feeling of control. Biology is not kind, it is not fair, it does not care about your suffering. It only cares about what survives and what reproduces. That is the only scoreboard that has ever mattered. Evolution is brutal math, and it never rewarded kindness, compassion, or moral purity unless those traits served reproduction. That is why we are wired to worship beauty without even realizing it. Beauty is not some cultural invention, it is a survival algorithm hard coded into the brain. Symmetry, skin quality, proportions, all of it is nothing more than ancient markers of health and fertility. You never chose to find a beautiful face more valuable. Your brain made that choice for you before you even thought. And that is why society bends itself to the will of the good looking. Doors open for them before they even knock. Teachers smile at them without knowing why. Bosses forgive their mistakes while crucifying the same mistakes in others. Strangers assume they are smarter, kinder, more trustworthy, because the brain tricks itself into believing beauty equals virtue. It is the halo effect and it runs every social interaction you have ever had. If you are born below average, you are condemned to fight uphill battles your whole life. You will need to work ten times harder for half the respect, and even then you will always be treated as lesser. People will preach about confidence, personality, or inner value, but all of those are judged differently depending on the face that carries them. A joke from a handsome man is charming, the same joke from an ugly man is unsettling. The darkest truth is you cannot override this programming. You can tell yourself that you do not judge people by looks, you can preach morality and fairness, but your brain already decided before you opened your mouth. The chemicals fire, the bias locks in, and the judgment is made. This is discrimination at the level of biology itself, prejudice written into the human operating system. There is no true meritocracy. There never was. The social hierarchy is nothing but a beauty contest dressed up as fairness. Those who win the genetic lottery are carried by invisible forces they never earned. Those who lose are forced to crawl through life with weights chained to their ankles, constantly punished for a crime they never committed. Life is not hard mode for them. Life is a rigged game they were never meant to win.
