When I was in France for a couple months the blacks were definitely the poorest that I saw

There's a lot of middle class Black areas too. It's hit or miss.

Black Americans are actually slightly richer than Mexicans and Puerto Ricans in the U.S. on average despite the whole "hardworking Hispanic" stereotype. That said, there's obviously still a lot of work to do.

Also, Nigeria still has a lot of income inequality and has many rich people despite have a lot of poverty.
