He’s not constantly crying or complaining like other characters made to depict male loneliness

He’s just empty, he seems relatively normal on the outside

He doesn’t tell anyone about how he feels because he knows no one cares

That’s how it is

This is our future with robot Ai girlfriends.

Also the ending

where he dies and nobody even gives a fuck about him, deckaed just leaves him there to rot while he goes and sees his daughter. He realises he isnt special and just a nobod.

The most brutal part of the movie was when the giant joi hologram said “you look like a good Joe”

Which shows that Jois love was never real unlike what Joe thought

She was just programmed to love him, which is accurate no one can love a worthless broken lonely man

Unless they’re forced too, most accurate depiction of male loneliness ever

This is why i think its better than the original, this is a lot more relatable to most men today.

Most of us go through life just existing and not truly living

The most depressing thing is that his delusions of being special or unique in any way are completely shattered at the end of the film.
