I've read about this topic quite a bit including posts by women and my own experience since I was very blonde when I was younger. This is my conclusion:

Anyone saying hair color doesn't matter is cope. Hair color plays a big role in female attraction. Women care about a man's hair color even more than men care about women's.

About 80% of white women prefer dark hair (medium brown - dark brown - black). Dark brown hair mogs black hair. The lighter a woman's natural hair color, the more likely she has a stronger preference for dark hair.

15-20% of white women prefer blonde hair. These women usually have dark hair/brown eyes themselves, so there's something of opposite attraction theory happening. Some of these women have a very strong preference for blonde hair, so it can have strong niche appeal.

Almost no women prefer red hair.
